Odessa Blackmore is an Irish-Turkish first generation American painter from the West Coast living in the South . Through her work she tells stories depicting magical utopias and spirit realms with imagery, symbols, and patterns inspired from her cultural background and imagination.  Using oil paint as her medium, she references Western portraiture,  fairytale illustrations, medieval manuscripts, Hieronymous Bosch, Leonora Carrington, Max Ernst, and other surrealist artists. She is interested in creating work exploring magical realism, reincarnation, alchemy, spirits, folklore, and ancient art. Depicting female protagonists, supernatural creatures, and dream landscapes using vivid colors and lighting to represent memories, symbolism, and emotions.
